For shops, traders and dealers in Ireland

Liffey Metals Buyer Programme

Buy gold and silver from the public. Sell it to us. Get paid fast.

Or email andrew@liffeymetals.com. You deal with Andrew directly, start to finish.

How it works

Six steps, and you are being paid.

  1. 01

    Apply

Two minutes on the form with your ID. We review by hand and come back to you within a working day.

  2. 02

    Get your starter kit

Scales, acid test kit, pouches, record sheets and prepaid labels, posted to you. Nothing to pay.

  3. 03

    Buy at your price

The app shows what we pay you for any piece, live off the market. What you pay the seller is your margin.

  4. 04

    Confirm the sale

Tap Sale Confirmed in the app. The rate is locked for the parcel for seven days.

  5. 05

    Send it in

Registered Post under 2,000 euro, with the label from your kit. Over that, we collect.

  6. 06

    Get paid

We open it on camera, test it and pay you by bank transfer. Usually the same day it arrives.

The app

Your counter, in your pocket

Pick the metal, the carat and the weight. The app prices the piece on the live market and logs the sale with a photo and the seller record. It opens like an app from your phone's home screen, no download.

Why Liffey

Built for people who buy, not for people who browse.

  • Gold and silver, all carats

9ct to 24ct gold, sterling to fine silver, scrap or intact. Hallmarked or not, if it tests we buy it.

  • Fast payouts

Tested on camera the day it arrives and paid by bank transfer, usually the same day.

  • Your brand stays yours

You trade under your own name. We never contact your customers and you never need to mention us.

  • No minimums

One ring or a tray of chains. Send what you have, when you have it.

  • No lock-in

No fee, no contract term, no volume target. Stop whenever you like.

Lots under 2,000 euro go by Registered Post with the label from your kit. Postage is deducted from the payout. Lots over 2,000 euro: request a collection and we arrange it with you.

Who it is for

If gold or silver passes through your hands, this pays.

  • Shops

Jewellers, pawnbrokers, phone and repair shops, anywhere with a counter and footfall.

  • Market and fair traders

Buy at the stall, price it on the spot, post it the same evening.

  • Antique dealers

Turn the scrap in a house clearance into cash instead of leaving it in a drawer.

  • Anyone handling metal

You do not need a registered business. Buying on your own account is fine; you need photo ID and to be over 18.

Who you deal with

Liffey Metals is run by Andrew Liffey in Dublin. Every buyer deals with me directly.

Questions

The four everyone asks.

How fast is the payout?
We open and test every parcel on camera the day it arrives and pay by bank transfer, usually the same day. Registered Post from anywhere in Ireland normally reaches us in one to two working days.
What if my test is wrong?
You only get paid for the metal that tests. Anything that turns out to be plated or fake is returned to you, and your first mistake is written off so it costs you nothing. The app and the kit walk you through the magnet and acid checks so it is rare.
Do I need to be a registered business?
No. Shops and sole traders are both welcome, and so is anyone buying on their own account. You do need photo ID, which we keep on file, and you are responsible for your own tax.
Can I stop at any time?
Yes. There is no contract term, no fee and no minimum. Either side can end the arrangement at any time; any parcel already on its way is still paid as normal.
